About the Program
Rise Up is UDL’s flagship summer program designed to empower youth from high-need New York City communities through immersive STEAAM learning, leadership development, and community-centered experiences. Students don’t just sit in classrooms, they design, build, analyze, present, and lead. The program blends technical skill-building with creative expression and civic engagement so students not only learn, but also contribute meaningfully to the places where they live. Through project-based workshops and community service projects, participants explore topics like urban design, public art, civic advocacy, forensic science, and environmental justice.
